Cubillo adjudged Miss Pintados 2006

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte  – The 19th Search for Miss Pintados 2006 has been concluded with Sheina Marie L. Cubillo emerging as this years loveliest. Sheina wowed the crowd, earned the judges' approval, and romped off with the most prestigious search in the Region, the Miss Pintados 2006 held at the Tacloban City Convention Center, June 27, 2006, Tuesday.

Sheina Marie L. Cubillo, candidate no. 11, a BS Nursing graduate of the Southwestern University, Cebu, bested 13 other candidates and won P50,000.00 in cash and an array of other prizes from pageant sponsors such as trophy with sash and bouquet, one brand new unit cellphone, gift certificate, one computer set and a trip for two (2) to Hongkong. She also grabbed 3 special awards, Miss Professionalism, Best Speaker and Best in Pintados Costume.

First Runner-up winner was candidate no. 3, Shane F. Sembrano. She received a cash prize of P30,000.00 and an assortment of other prizes such as, trophy with sash and bouquet, gift certificate and one brand new unit cellphone. She also won 3 special awards, Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, and Darling of the Press.

Candidate no. 8, Sheryl Ann C. Lantajo, grabbed the Second Runner-up place and won P20,000.00 plus trophy with sash and bouquet, gift certificates and one brand new unit cellphone from sponsors. She was also presented the Best in Filipiniana Gala award of the night.

Candidate no. 7, Leona Rica S. Dacullo, placed 3rd Runner-up earning a total of P10,000.00 in cash. She also won 2 special awards for Best in Swimsuit and Globe Texters Choice special award.

Fourth Runner-up was Mareald Dianne Villablanca, candidate no. 12, won P5,000.00 cash prize, gift certificate, and a brand new unit cellphone. She received the Smart Texters Choice Awards.

Among the honored judges for this year’s search were Miss Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez, PAMI President, Ms.June Rufino, Mr. Domenik Berger for the Volunteers for the Visayans, and Mr. Bobby Uykim, who based their judgement on the following criteria: Poise and Personality (30%), Beauty of Face (30%), Communication Ability (30%), and Professionalism (10%).

The glittering event was hosted by no less than the charming and gentleman showbiz personality, Raymund Bagatsing and featured 14 lovely candidates, parading in Pintados Costume, Swimsuit, and Long gowns as well Filipiana Gala. Other celebrities present during the event was handsome TJ Trinidad, who serenaded the candidates; Star Circle Quest’s Rafael Martinez and Neri Naig; Madame Imelda Marcos and other key figures and businessmen of the society.

Miss Pintados search is a competition of women with beauty and intelligence, it moves beyond the exterior of womanhood and also exposes the candidates to a greater realm of the essence of balance between the body, mind and spirit.
