As a Samareño living abroad, I am proud to read that the Samareños are coming together to fight the greedy loggers that are raping Samar's rainforest. Please don't stop until victory is won. It is not fair that the future generations of Samarenos will suffer because some greedy people can put money in the pockets of demented politicians so that logging bans are lifted. If the Samareños were able to fashion out America's first military setback in Balangiga, there is no reason why they can not win over loggers and politicians. This, I am sure. A true Samareño always wins when he fights with his heart.

STUPID DEFENSOR, GREEDY ENRILE, GAGO NGA MGA SAMARNON IN CYBERSPACE

Usahay ngani, karuyag ko mag deputa denhi ha GugmaHanSamar@yahoogroups.com.  Waray na Gugma.  Hahahahaha.

I have been in America since 1985.  The first Samarnon agenda that I initiated was the organization of the Samar High School Alumni association here. I initiated it among the Calbiganons during the first fiesta that I attended here in San Francisco.  The Calbiganons, at least here in America and California, were very gracious. Since then, I think up to a point we have been successful.

Then, my pakialam broadened to include disseminating our culture in Region 8, including Cielo Tibe's songs.  One time, I almost run amok in a church in Daly City here in the suburb of San Francisco, California, during a Samarnon-Leyteno party. We had a concert for Cielo Tibe.

The reason?  Of course, I was not against the dancing. But the other organizers of the concert, including one priest -- from Samar and Leyte -- wanted to dance right away.  I just wanted us to have a minute of silence in remembrance of the 8,000 who perished in the Burauen-Ormoc floods and then to have a special curacha, the gala would have been given to the families of those who survived the floods, landslides which killed about 8,000 people in the Ormoc-Burauen area because of the massive destruction of the forests and jungles of Leyte.

Remember the 8,000 of our people in Samar and Leyte who died, people of Leyte and Samar in cyberspace? Ura ura naman la kamo ka inocente ngan ka waray utok kon diri kamo nahihinundom hini.

And then three years ago, how many people died in So. Leyte due to landslides, again because of illegal logging and the destruction of the forests of So. Leyte?

And then last year, in November 2004, how many of your fellow human beings in Luzon died because of the destruction of the forests in Aurora, in Quezon, in Nueva Ecija, in other parts of the Philippines? 1,600? How many of you contributed bisan la gutiay to the families of those who perished in the floods and landslides in Luzon last year? Irignom la? Guin party? Nagpasikat la?

When Enrile was enriching himself in Samar cutting down our trees when he and Marcos were buddy-buddy, Samarnons died because he hired elements of the Lost Command to guard his corrupted empire in Samar and to kill the poor peasants in Samar.  And yet Enrile and Defensor are not even from Samar?  Mga gago na kita because we allow them to insult us like this!

In this Samar list, nobody has even said that he or she will contribute P20, the amount to be sent to those in Samar who are going to be killed by the henchmen of Defensor and Enrile because they are protesting their greed.

And the sad thing about this, is that the poor and ignorant soldiers of the Philippine military, those who are in Maulong, in other garrisons in Samar, those whose salaries and armalites and helicopter gunships, and tanks are being paid by you in Samar, in the Philippines and us all over the world, will be killing your own people in Samar and the Philippines so that Enrile and Defensor can enjoy in Samar cutting down the trees, the network that allows us to live bisan diri sugad hiton ricohanon nga kinabuhi ni Enrile ngan ini nga Defensor.

Ini hi Enrile ngan Defensor, mga rico-ricohan na ini.  Kamo dida ha Samar, waray ngani kamo pinanlalamon.  Iton iyo mga anak nagbabaligya hiton ira mga lawas para makakaon hin miserable.  Iton iba, basura ha Payatas iton ira kinabuhi.

And yet, we are silent hini nga karuyag buhaton ni Enrile ngan Defensor.  Ano man iton posisyon hini nga iyo mga lideres dida ha Samar?  Ini nga Gobernadora ha Weste nga iyo pinalangga, ini nga iyo Congressman, ini nga iyo anay guinhahangad nga Eddie Nachura?

Sometimes, I tend to agree that we are indeed a contemptible people. No wonder you choose your incompetent, greedy, corrupt leaders who spawn people like Enrile and Defensor. And then you let them gago you.  Because "Waray kita mahihimo.  Kanan Diyos pag-buot!"
