HINDANG, Leyte – A
new edifice symbolizing unity and progress now stood in the center of
Hindang housing its town hall and Sangguniang Bayan and other
municipal offices.
Leyte Governor Carlos
Jericho Petilla together with Leyte 5th District Representative Carlos
Cari, Baybay City Mayor Carmen Cari and Hindang Mayor Elpidio Cabal
Jr. recently led the inauguration of the modernly designed
multi-million multi-purpose hall that also serves the town hall.
Mayor Cabal said his
administration opted to prioritize the rehabilitation of their old
municipal hall for the people “to experience and feel the progress the
town has attained”.
He said that with a
better-looking and more modern town hall can ensure a better and
effective service to the people.
“The town hall,
although it may just be a building also reflects the personality of
the town,” Mayor Cabal added.
The mayor likewise
mentioned that the town hall’s inauguration is the fulfillment of a
long-time dream to have a new municipal hall as the old one it
replaced was already too old and dilapidated.
The mayor’s office for
one, though was airconditioned, had its ceiling ready to fall any
moment. Gov. Petilla said that having “a nice and spacious working
environment evokes good quality service among the employees”.
“The work environment
speaks so much of how one will conduct his work. It also helps to have
a good working environment for the employees and staff to come to
everyday and inspire them to work compared to working in a building
that could fall on you anytime,” Gov. Petilla said during the short
program held.
Meanwhile it was
learned the province has provided Hindang LGU with a P1 million
financial assistance for the completion of the town hall while former
Congresswoman Cari has given the project P3 million in financial
assistance through her CDF fund.
