Calbayog Mayor assumes office, vows rewards for good performance, mulls hospital construction

CATBALOGAN CITY  –  Calbayog City Mayor Reynaldo Uy reported for work, Monday. He started his day with a prayer and a meeting with the employees of the City Mayor's Office.

After a flurry of meetings with some department managers and his callers, he took time to meet the LGU employees before the flag-retreat ceremony.

In the said meeting, he enjoined everyone to be united and do their share in providing good service to the people of Calbayog. He called on everyone to be good performers or be performing assets of the LGU and even hinted at giving generous bonuses for those who will be able to deliver good service to the LGU.

He also met with the city officials, the department managers and assistant department managers of LGU-Calbayog.

The said meeting was held at the Marju-Krisel function hall a few hours after the oath-taking ceremonies.

Various issues and concerns were raised during the said meeting. It included the intention of the city to construct Calbayog City Hospital.

He also touched on employees’ performance, with the re-implementation of the Tri-District Program, among others.

Mayor Uy has swapped places with Congressman Mel Senen Sarmiento who was then mayor of Calbayog while the former was the Samar second district representative to Congress.

Prior to his election as Representative to Congress, Uy was also the city mayor of Calbayog. (with Ron Ricafort)
